Abstrak

Social assistance is a government policy instrument designed to reduce the economic burden of poor and vulnerable communities. This study aims to comprehensively examine the impact of social assistance on the work ethic of society from an Islamic perspective and social reality. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results show that social assistance has a dual impact: on one hand it can be an effective safety net, but on the other hand it has the potential to create a culture of dependency if not managed properly. Islam emphasizes the balance between providing assistance and encouraging hard work. It is necessary to reform social assistance program designs that integrate the values of independence, empowerment, and mentoring.
